The DuPont acquisition marks and exciting step in the future of OxyMem and MABR
“OxyMem has benefited from working with DuPont, as an investor, for the last four years. A world-class water business, DuPont helped us refocus our development efforts to advance our Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) technology,” said Wayne Byrne, CEO OxyMem Limited. “With the ownership of DuPont, we look forward to scaling MABR to meet the growing demand for the treatment and purification of municipal and industrial wastewater.”
OxyMem Wins Water and Energy Exchange (WEX) Global Innovation in Process Technology Award

OxyMem were awarded the Innovation in Process Technology Award. The company was honoured to receive this recognition of achievement in the water sector.
“The judges were particularly impressed by the OxyMem drop-in MABR modules that enhance the capacity of wastewater treatment plants”, commented Mark Barker, CEO of WEX. The technology helps operators cope with fluctuating process loads without having to expand the plant. The MABR delivers oxygen to the established biofilm via the millions of gas permeable membrane tubes; a mechanism capable of saving considerable energy consumption over traditional bubble aeration.
OxyMem Wins “Breakthrough Technology Company of the Year” from Global Water Awards

On September 17th it was announced that OxyMem won Breakthrough Technology Company of the Year” by theGlobal Water Intelligence (GWI) Awards for its innovative Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) technology for the treatment and purification of municipal and industrial wastewater.
This recognition marks the successful journey from a 2013 spinoff out of University College Dublin to a commercially viable solution to deal with lower nutrient discharges requirements and increased treatment capacity demands without additional land use,” said John McConomy, Commercial Director of DuPont’s OxyMem product line. “As part of DuPont, we have a golden opportunity to upscale our activities and meet the massive demand for MABR.”
