DuPont Complete Acquisition of OxyMem Limited

On January 10th 2020 DuPont announced it had completed the process of acquiring full ownership of OxyMem Limited.

At OxyMem, we research, develop and manufacture an advanced Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) technology for the treatment and purification of municipal and industrial wastewaters. Manufacturing is carried out in Athlone, Ireland, where production capability has increased by an additional 300% and the workforce has more than doubled during the last few years.

OxyMem was founded in 2013, based on a technology spin-out from the University College Dublin, Ireland. We are engaged in the development, manufacturing and sales of core MABR units containing patented technology for hollow fibre, silicone polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membranes.

DuPont owned 31 percent of the company until December, when they exercised their option to acquire all outstanding shares of OxyMem to obtain 100 percent ownership.

“OxyMem has benefited from working with DuPont, as an investor, for the last four years. A world-class water business, DuPont helped us refocus our development efforts to advance our Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) technology,” said Wayne Byrne, CEO OxyMem Limited. “With the ownership of DuPont, we look forward to scaling MABR to meet the growing demand for the treatment and purification of municipal and industrial wastewater.”

The DuPont acquisition marks and exciting step in the future of OxyMem and MABR .
